Supper Club at Al Sur Latin American Bistro. Go for the empanadas.
Alden proclaimed this NYC trip “his trip” since I already had a girls NYC trip in April. We stayed with Joyce and Jason as well as Eric and Hyuniee. As usual, we ate and drank our bellies full. We also waited in quite a few lines as we visited classic tourist destinations.
Here are 60 photos from our California trip (you can click on the photo to go through them).
It started in Sacramento, where we stayed with Peter and Anna. We went to my cousin Paul’s wedding in Davis. Then went camping in Yosemite with Matthew and Hayley. Finally, we went to San Francisco and stayed with Karen and Mike. We packed a lot into this trip.

The Mist Trail, probably the coolest trail in Yosemite

It was Fleet Week, which meant a parade of Navy ships was passing by. We had the perfect viewpoint on Alcatraz, in the middle of the harbor.

Lots of ships in the bay today. A foggy Golden Gate Bridge is in the distance.

The Toronado bar in the Haight had an amazing selection. Thanks for the recommendation Tyler!
I finally tried the Texas Chili Parlor in the height of non-chili weather. Despite the heat, I convinced a group of co-workers to eat at this Austin institution. I got the double XX chili potato. You get a huge serving of nicely flavored chili filled with nice chunks of meat; no ground meat here! Next time, I would get the triple XXX.
Lisa performed some Hungarian folk dancing at Zilker Theatre! The night also featured traditional Mexican dancing fun.
